PG in Kadugodi (2026): Rent, Kadugodi Tree Park Metro Access and ITPL Commute Guide

The offer letter says ITPL, the suitcase is half-packed, and your phone map has a pin on Kadugodi, a place you hadn't heard of last month. A good PG in Kadugodi keeps you close to Kadugodi Tree Park station on the Purple Line. That station is one stop from Pattandur Agrahara, where a skywalk now links the metro to ITPB and Park Square Mall. Choose a PG on its all-in monthly cost, written terms, safety basics and a commute you have timed yourself, not on the lowest "starting from" price.

This guide covers how to judge a PG or coliving in Kadugodi: the commute, the metro, what rent really adds up to, safety checks and a pre-move-in checklist. Yello! Living Kadugodi is the one named option. We run it, so hold it to the same standards as every other PG you visit.

Key takeaways

If you only have two minutes before a site visit, these are the points that matter most.

  • Location: Kadugodi suits people working at ITPL and the eastern Whitefield tech parks. Kadugodi Tree Park sits on the Purple Line, one stop from Pattandur Agrahara, the station for ITPB and Park Square Mall.
  • Sharing type: triple sharing costs less and gives you less privacy. Double sharing costs more and gives you more space and quieter nights. Check what each price includes before you compare.
  • Total cost: compare the all-in monthly cost, not the "starting from" price. Electricity, food, maintenance and GST change the total.
  • Food: many owner-run PGs include meals, while managed coliving varies. If a PG serves food, ask to see its FSSAI licence.
  • Terms before payment: get the security deposit, lock-in, notice period and refund policy in writing before you pay a booking amount.
  • Women and parents: prioritise CCTV in common areas, gate timings, police verification of staff and an in-person site visit.

Kadugodi PG options by type at a glance

Most PGs in Kadugodi fall into three types. Knowing which type you are looking at tells you more than any "verified" badge on a listing. The table compares them by who they suit, what rent usually covers and what you need to check on the visit.

TypeWho it usually suitsTypical price positionFoodWhat to verifyBest for

Five criteria for judging a PG in Kadugodi

A listing photo can't tell you whether a PG will work for your daily life. These five criteria can, and they apply to every option, including ours.

  1. Commute fit: how long it really takes to reach ITPL, and how easily you can get to Kadugodi Tree Park metro.
  2. Transparent terms: the deposit, lock-in, notice period and refund policy, all in writing.
  3. Safety: CCTV, security staff, fire safety and police verification of staff.
  4. What the rent includes: food, Wi-Fi, housekeeping, laundry and power backup.
  5. Management model: an owner-run converted apartment versus a managed or purpose-built property.

Building approval matters as well as the trade licence. In M/s Princess Ladies PG v. The Chief Commissioner (September 2026), the Karnataka High Court observed that "a trade license does not regularize unauthorized construction" (LiveLaw). In the same case, the Greater Bengaluru Authority reported that about 2,500 of roughly 5,000 PGs inspected in Bengaluru East were operating without proper licences, sanctioned plans or fire clearances (The News Minute).

What to look for in a PG or coliving space in Kadugodi

Comparing forty listings one by one wastes time. Decide first which type fits your budget, commute and comfort level, then shortlist within that type.

Owner-run PGs around Channasandra and AB Vajpayee Road

The pockets around Channasandra, Hope Farm and AB Vajpayee Road have plenty of owner-run PGs. They usually have the lowest rents, often include meals, and are typically boys-only or girls-only. That makes them a common first stop for anyone searching for a PG for gents in Kadugodi or a triple sharing PG in Whitefield.

Management quality varies widely. Some owners are attentive and keep things clean. Others hand over a key and disappear until rent day. Written agreements may be thin or missing.

Best for: the lowest budget and short stays. Trade-off: fewer written terms and very uneven amenities. Take the move-in checklist below on every visit.

Converted-flat PGs

A converted-flat PG is an apartment divided into beds, with a landlord or caretaker nearby. Watch the bathroom-to-resident ratio, how busy the shared kitchen gets, and whether the building is approved for this use. A standard 3BHK was designed for one family, not a houseful of tenants.

Best for: a mid-range budget with some flexibility on commute. Trade-off: the layout and common space are limited to what the original flat had.

Ladies-only PGs near Kadugodi Tree Park metro

Ladies-only PGs near the metro usually offer restricted visitor access, set gate timings and sometimes a female warden. The checks that matter most are CCTV in the entrance and corridors (never in rooms), police verification of staff, and a well-lit walk to the station. You'll find our full list of safety checks for ladies' PGs in a separate guide. Do your own visit at the time you would normally walk home.

Yello! Living Kadugodi

Yello! Living Kadugodi is our Kadugodi property, and it is separate from our main Whitefield campus. The best way to judge it is in person. Walk the room, ask about the terms, and time the route to the metro yourself. Current room types and pricing are listed on the Rooms page, which covers single, double and triple sharing rooms.

Our flagship, the Yello! Living Whitefield campus (see Yello Whitefield), is a 2-acre property built as a coliving space from the start, not converted from a flat. It has fully furnished rooms with attached bathrooms, professional housekeeping, security and CCTV, and a pantry with appliances on every floor. Its community calendar runs gaming nights, community meals, sports screenings, fitness classes and workshops. These details describe that campus. Ask the team which of them apply at Kadugodi.

Best for: young professionals new to Bangalore who want a managed place with written terms. Honest trade-off: Yello is not the cheapest PG in Kadugodi, and owner-run triple shares cost less.

Commute from Kadugodi to ITPL and the Whitefield tech parks

Kadugodi sits at the eastern end of Whitefield. By metro, Kadugodi Tree Park is one stop from Pattandur Agrahara, which connects to ITPB and Park Square Mall by an overhead skywalk. By road, your journey depends on the Hope Farm junction and Whitefield Main Road, and travel times change sharply with the hour. The only commute figure worth trusting is one you time door to door at your actual office hours. That's why commute matters more than rent.

Pro tip: do a trial run before you sign. Ride from Kadugodi Tree Park at your real start time, time the last-mile leg on its own, and write down the date and hour.

Using the Purple Line from Kadugodi Tree Park station

The Purple Line has run on the Whitefield stretch since March 2023 (Square Yards). From the Whitefield end, the station order is:

  • Whitefield (Kadugodi), Hopefarm Channasandra, Kadugodi Tree Park, Pattandur Agrahara, then Sri Sathya Sai Hospital. Measured from central Whitefield, Hopefarm Channasandra is about 0.8 km away, Kadugodi Tree Park about 1.7-2 km and Pattandur Agrahara about 3 km, per Square Yards. Treat these as indicative only, because your PG's exact location changes the numbers.
  • The ITPB Metro Skywalk was inaugurated on 17 January 2026. It is 320 ft long and raised 24 ft above the road, and it links Pattandur Agrahara station to ITPB and Park Square Mall with ramps and elevators (Investment Guru India). BMRCL's Subramanya Gudge called it an example of collaboration that "strengthens last-mile connectivity."
  • Housing.com reports first trains at 5:00 AM Monday to Saturday and 7:00 AM on Sundays and holidays, last trains around 11:00 PM, and trains every 5-7 minutes on weekdays. Check the BMRCL schedule before you plan late shifts around it.

Road routes, traffic and monsoon reality

If you plan to commute by two-wheeler or auto, test three stretches: Hope Farm junction, the Kadugodi signal and Whitefield Main Road. Drive them at your real office hours, and once more after heavy rain, because a dry-weather trial tells you little about July. If you own a bike or car, ask whether the PG has covered parking and whether it costs extra. Many converted flats simply don't have space.

Hybrid work changes the PG maths

With two or three office days a week, your room is also your office. Wi-Fi reliability, power backup and a quiet place for calls matter as much as commute time. The Yello! Living Whitefield campus has a co-working area, so you don't have to take calls from your bed. Wherever you look, run a speed test inside the room, not in the lobby.

Rent for triple, double and single sharing PGs in Kadugodi (2026)

What you pay for a PG in Kadugodi depends on the sharing type, whether food is included and which extras get billed separately. Single occupancy costs the most. Triple sharing costs the least. The headline number on a listing is usually a "starting from" figure for the cheapest bed in the building. Treat aggregator price filters with care too: a wide filter span shows the range of a search, not what most people pay. For citywide context only, Magicbricks put Bengaluru's 2023 average PG rent at ₹7,503 for triple and ₹8,533 for double sharing (Realty n More). Those are citywide 2023 figures, not current Kadugodi rents.

Triple vs double sharing: what the price gap buys you

Triple sharing saves money and costs you privacy. Before you decide, ask whether the saving is worth three alarms going off at different times every morning.

FactorTriple sharingDouble sharing
Privacy and sleepThree schedules, more disturbanceEasier to agree on lights-out
StorageTighter cupboard spaceMore room for a first-job wardrobe
Bathroom ratioOften more people per bathroomUsually fewer

Your real monthly cost beyond the listed rent

Add these together for every PG on your shortlist, and compare only the totals:

  • Rent
  • Electricity or AC charges (metered or flat)
  • Maintenance charges
  • Food, if not included
  • Laundry
  • GST, where applicable
  • Commute (metro fares, autos, fuel)

A PG that is cheaper on rent but 25 minutes further from the metro can cost more by the end of the month once fares and autos are added.

Private coliving room vs a Whitefield 1BHK for couples

For couples, the usual alternative is a 1BHK. On NoBroker, Whitefield 1BHK listings show rents of roughly ₹10,000-₹26,000 a month, with deposits typically one to three months' rent. Maintenance, electricity, water and parking are usually extra (NoBroker).

PG vs managed coliving in Kadugodi: which fits working professionals

The real difference between a PG and managed coliving is who runs the place and what's written down, more than the room itself.

FactorOwner-run PGConverted-flat PGPurpose-built coliving
Who manages itOwner or familyLandlord or caretakerProfessional property team
Agreement and termsOften informalVariesWritten

Rules and curfewsOften strictVariesHouse rules, set in writing

One myth deserves a direct answer: coliving is not only for students. Yello's resident base includes working professionals, couples and people returning to Bangalore for new jobs. The verdict is simple. If price matters most, an owner-run PG wins. If written terms, privacy and people to eat dinner with matter more, coliving is worth the difference. Ladies PG and gents PG in Kadugodi: rules and safety checks

Safety rules for Bengaluru PGs have tightened. BBMP's August 2024 rules call for CCTV at all entry points, 24/7 security, at least 70 sq ft per resident, fire clearance, and an FSSAI licence wherever food is served (Deccan Herald). The Karnataka High Court's September 2026 order bars CCTV in bedrooms, bathrooms, toilets and changing areas, and requires police verification of guards, cooks and other staff (LiveLaw).

Ladies PG in Kadugodi: what to verify

If you are searching for a ladies PG in Kadugodi, check each of these in person:

  • CCTV covering the entrance, exits and corridors, and none inside bedrooms or bathrooms
  • A female warden or female security staff
  • Gate timings that work with your shift
  • A well-lit walking route to the metro station
  • The visitor policy, and whether a visitor register is kept
  • Police verification of guards, cooks and cleaners
  • A clear emergency contact process, with your ID and emergency contact on file

For the longer version, see our safety checks for ladies' PGs.

Gents PG in Kadugodi: food, guests and late entry

Gents PGs vary most on rules, so ask about these before you commit:

  • Late-entry rules for shift workers and late-night deploy days
  • Guest policy, including whether friends can stay over
  • Food timings and how often the menu changes
  • Rules on smoking and alcohol

We cover this in more depth in PG rules for men: food, guests, late entry.

What to check before you move into a PG in Kadugodi

Before you move in, see the exact room, get the terms in writing, and test the basics yourself. Take this list on every visit:

  1. Visit in person, or ask for a live video walkthrough of the exact room you will get.
  2. Read the written agreement: deposit, lock-in, notice period, refund timeline and price-revision terms.
  3. Ask whether the booking amount is refundable.
  4. Check power backup coverage, including whether it extends to AC and geysers.
  5. Check the hot water and RO drinking water arrangements.
  6. Run a Wi-Fi speed test in the room, not the lobby.
  7. Confirm how often housekeeping comes and how laundry works.
  8. Check fire safety: extinguishers, exits and smoke detectors. The High Court order says corridors, staircases, balconies and parking areas "cannot be converted into sleeping accommodation," and LPG cylinders cannot sit in staircases, corridors or sleeping areas.
  9. Confirm how police verification works for residents and staff.
  10. Read recent reviews and talk to one current resident without the manager present.

Ask this before paying: "Is the booking amount refundable, and by when?" "Can you give me the all-in monthly figure in writing, including electricity, maintenance and GST?" "What exactly happens, and what do I get back, if I leave early?"

For more, use our fully furnished PG checklist.

A checklist for parents choosing a PG for their child's first job

If you are paying the deposit, you are entitled to visit, ask questions and expect clear answers. Ask:

  • Who manages the property day to day?
  • What hours does security staff work?
  • Where are the CCTV cameras, and who reviews the footage?
  • Can parents visit, and how?
  • How does the deposit refund work, and how long does it take?

The Yello! Living Whitefield campus is purpose-built, with professional housekeeping, security and CCTV, and site visits are welcome. Our guide first job, first two weeks in Bangalore is worth sharing with your child too.

FAQs about PGs in Kadugodi

PG rent in Kadugodi depends on the sharing type. Triple sharing is cheapest and single occupancy costs the most. Listed "starting from" prices usually describe the cheapest bed, so compare the all-in monthly cost instead. Food, electricity, maintenance and GST can change the total a lot. For Yello! Living pricing, see the Rooms page.

It depends on your PG's exact location and your office hours, so time it yourself at peak. By metro, Kadugodi Tree Park is one stop from Pattandur Agrahara. Since January 2026, a skywalk has linked Pattandur Agrahara to ITPB and Park Square Mall. By road, test Hope Farm junction and Whitefield Main Road at your real start time.

Yes, if you verify the basics yourself. Look for CCTV covering entrances and corridors (never rooms), gate timings, female staff, police verification of guards and cooks, and a well-lit route to the metro. Visit at the time you would normally walk home. Our safety checks for ladies' PGs guide covers this in detail.

Many owner-run PGs in Kadugodi include meals, while managed coliving varies by property. Any PG serving food should hold an FSSAI licence under BBMP's 2024 rules, so ask to see it. At the Yello! Living Whitefield campus, there is a community kitchen plus a pantry with appliances on every floor. Ask about meals at Kadugodi on your tour.

Deposits, lock-ins and notice periods vary widely between operators in Kadugodi, so never assume. Get all three in writing, along with the refund timeline and whether the booking amount is refundable, before you pay anything. For Yello! Living's current terms, check the Rooms page or ask the team during a site visit.

It depends on what you value. Coliving usually offers written terms, attached bathrooms and a built-in community, while a traditional PG usually costs less. If you're new to Bangalore and want friends and fewer setup hassles, coliving often fits better. If budget is your top priority, a PG wins. Read how coliving works in Bangalore.

Many traditional PGs in Kadugodi are single-gender, so couples are often turned away. Coliving is more flexible. At the Yello! Living Whitefield campus, private rooms are couple-friendly for married and unmarried couples. Ask about the Kadugodi property's policy when you visit. Book a tour to see a private room in person.

Notes on the linking:

  • 8 links added, 1 skipped. I left out #7 ("run a speed test inside the room") because step 2 found no verified URL. If you check speedtest.net yourself, you can add it there.
  • Anchor #1 is inside a bold paragraph. That intro paragraph is already bold, so I added the link without extra ** markers. Nesting bold inside bold would break the formatting, and the link still displays bold.
  • No competitor check was possible. The competitor domain list was empty. None of the new URLs repeat an existing link. The Deccan Herald and The News Minute links point to different articles than the ones already on the page.
  • Before publishing:
  • Step 2 says these URLs came from search results and the pages weren't opened. Spot-check that they load.
  • The GST source (#8) is a 2023 Karnataka ruling on 12% GST. The later 2024 exemption may make it partly outdated. The anchor says "where applicable," so it still works, but you could swap in an official CBIC source if you find one.
